This Is Christmas

What is Christmas? Yes, it's the magical decorations...and the delicious cookies...and the beautiful carols...and the tree...and gatherings with family and friends...and cherished traditions. But as wonderful as those things are, of course it's the Christ Child who is the reason for the celebration. What a gift!

The image above was made at Christopher Columbus Park in Boston's North End. Thousands of blue and white lights along with Christmas wreaths adorn the trellis' at this time of year. The tower you see is part of the old custom house building - my favorite skyline feature in town.
