The Spirit of Thanksgiving
“We would worry less if we praised more. Thanksgiving is the enemy of discontent and dissatisfaction.”
Harry A. Ironside
How true...it's pretty hard to praise and be a dissatisfied grump at the same time. Every time I look at this image I think about the wonderful place where it was made: Walden Pond in Concord, MA.
It's quite a beautiful lake - and of course one can't help but think about what it must have been like there when Henry David Thoreau lived along its shoreline for two years in the mid-1800s. (Did you know Thoreau's friend Ralph Waldo Emerson owned the land where the cabin stood?)
You must really use your imagination, though, since this spot is no longer in the great wilderness but rather surrounded by the suburbs.
