The Book of Isaiah Uplifts
As I read through the Bible, I have a notebook handy in which to jot down verses that I think might work well as the basis for The Christian Gift product designs, and also those that I find inspirational for myself personally. (Sometimes the same verses fits both categories!) Lately, I've been segmenting the verses by book. Isaiah is particularly rich with wonderful passages. Here's what I've collected:
Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. (12:2)
O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things. (25:1)
Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord is the Rock eternal. (26:4)
In quietness and trust is your strength. (30:15)
The word of our God stands forever. (40:8)
Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. (40:31)
"For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." (41:13)
"Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you." (46:4)
My God has been my strength. (49:5)
The Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones. (49:13)
"Those who hope in me will not be disappointed." (49:23)
He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. (53:5)
You will go forth in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. (55:12)
What do you think? Are you feeling uplifted? I know I am......
