RIP Jane Wicker

If you're a fan of air shows, there's a good chance you've seen Jane Wicker perform at some point. Recreating the thrilling wing walks made popular during the barnstorming era, Jane walked, climbed and hung from her bi-plane - without any safety lines or a parachute.

She got into the sport more than 20 years ago and has been a fixture at air shows across the country.

Yesterday, she and her pilot Charlie Schwenker were killed in a terrible accident while performing at the Dayton Air Show. It's as yet unclear what caused the crash. Jane leaves behind two sons, one of which recently graduated from high school. These shots are from her performance last summer at the Portsmouth Air Show here in New Hampshire.
