My Father

As water reflects a face, so a man's heart reflects the man. Proverbs 27:19

I was fortunate to have been blessed with wonderful parents. Though both of them are now in heaven, I carry them close to me in my heart. I've been pleasantly surprised by how near to me they remain. At least in my case, it's true what they say about the fact that those who are closest to you never really die...and I'm glad that it's worked out that way. I find myself often recalling things they said and advice they gave me, along with anecdotes about each of them.

Of course I'd rather be enjoying their company here on earth, but I know they're so very happy where they are now.

This Father's Day, I pay tribute to my dad. His heart reflected a man of great ability and tremendous character. As accomplished as he was professionally, I know he'd tell you it was his family about which he was proudest. I miss him every day.
