Happy May Day

Happy May Day! As much as I enjoy the beautiful show nature stages every autumn, for me nothing beats the flowering trees and shrubs of spring. Particularly lovely are the blossoms on crab trees.

The display doesn't last long, which only makes it more special.

I've planted crab trees at each of my homes. In New Hampshire, I had three of them. Here, light rain showers transformed blossoms just opening up into sparkling jewels. It was spectacular to behold, and the shooting conditions were exceptional.
