That's actually a song lyric (Irving Berlin's name probably gave that away). Bing Crosby sang it. Do you know in which film? It's from White Christmas.

In many households, it's a holiday tradition to view that classic movie. That's certainly the case for me! Ironically, though, if someone were to try to get that film produced today, it'd likely never be green-lighted. Too corny. No action.

We are light-years from the culture of the 1950s (or earlier). Still - if things were so awful back then (as many would have you believe), why is it that some of the movies we hold dearest  were produced during those years and portray ideals firmly rooted in that era?
