Indeed!

For my money, the White Mountains of New Hampshire are one of the prettiest places I know of to view vibrant autumnal colors. Even at the height of foliage season, with many visitors flocking to the area, solitude can be found at the edges of the day.

The spot where I made this photograph is popular and typically quite crowded during the day. On this morning, though, I encountered only one other person (another photographer). In spite of the fact that there was too much overcast for the sun to paint the sky as it rose, it was a spectacular scene.
