Come and See (Lupines)

Whenever I'm in the field with my camera, I am reminded what a privilege it is to spend so much time surrounded by the beauty God created for us in nature.

Even if the conditions are uncooperative and I don't return with the image I'd hoped to make, it can never be a truly "bad day at the office" when the "office" is so wonderful to behold. I made this picture some years ago, as I was discovering the lupines of New Hampshire's White Mountains.

After this inaugural season, I made it a point every year to spend time in the fields of Sugar Hill and the surrounding mountain communities beginning in late May to photograph the lovely blooms.
