Autumn in the Beautiful White Mountains
I was in the White Mountains of New Hampshire for a few days last week on a photo shoot. The color this year is spectacular.
After a few consecutive autumns with very muted color due to overabundant rain, this season the hues are rich and vibrant. In particular, the deep, radiant reds (which are the hallmark of the "show") are back in full force.
If you live in New England, the color in the mountains is near peak right now. Get in the car and go! If you like reds, the Kancamagus Highway is especially beautiful this year (between the Kancamagus Pass and Lincoln is breathtaking), and route 302 between Crawford Notch and Bretton Woods is amazing as always.
Route 16 in Pinkham Notch is also quite pretty - more oranges there, but the closer you get to the Mt. Washington auto road, the more reds you'll see.
In the words of the psalmist, Come and see what God has done!
Indeed.
