All Creatures Great and Small

While visiting my brother in Florida for a few days early in December, I spent some time at Sebastian Inlet State Park with my camera. There is a large fishing jetty there, very popular with the locals, and the structure has all kinds of character. I've previously photographed it from the air, so wanted this time to capture it from a different perspective.

Turns out this is a hugely popular spot with the pelicans, too. They hang out near where fishermen and women clean their catch, looking for scraps. Easy meal! This cute guy was cooperative enough to linger...preening and posing for me.

Spending a few hours in such close proximity to these lovely creatures brought to mind the Cecil Alexander poem, "All Things Bright and Beautiful," the first line of which is quoted above. How vast - and varied - are the works of God's hands!
