Against The Wind

This is such a great quote. Perhaps because I'm a fan of flight, and it conjures up wonderful imagery - or perhaps it's simply because it is true!!

It might seem counterintuitive, but headwinds give aircraft a boost and enable lift to be more easily achieved. Taking off and landing into the wind requires less runway and lower ground speed.

Too bad I have to wait another three months to watch my next air show!
