After the Storm

The big storm moved out yesterday, and I finished the last of the cleanup yesterday afternoon. As far as Nor'easters go, this one wasn't so bad...because our power never went out! Though we pay some of the highest electric rates in the country here in New Hampshire, the service isn't very good. A breath of wind? Uh-oh...watch out. The lights may start to flicker.

So when REAL weather moves in, it nearly always spells "lights out."

To make matters worse, when we do lose power, it's nearly always for days at a time. Therefore, I'll clear mountains of snow without complaint as long as I don't have to think about the generator! As for the totals, this shot was taken on my back deck (do you like the vintage yardstick?):
